Please be sure you know what you are buying when buying Mexican Auto Insurance. Some credit card companies automatically cover you when you rent a car, but this may not be enough coverage. Check with the card company for your credit before you travel to be sure you have all the coverage information. To rent a car in Mexico you will need a valid home country drivers license, and a major credit card. Important to note, many Mexico Car Rental companied have minimum age requirements to rent the car in Mexico.
While enjoying your vacation in Mexico, you will have limitless options for destinations and activities and the major car rental companies are all there for you. In addition to the Mexico car rental companies there are other modes of transportation. - A temporary car permit (this can only be obtained at the Mexican border).
- A car insurance issued in Mexico (insurance of your country is not accepted).
- A valid driver’s license.
- A current car registration and an original car title (original is required).
- A valid International credit card.
- A temporary importation application.
- A signed declaration dated with your scheduled return to your country.
