Why a destination wedding?
When you extend the invitation to family and friends who don't live near you, you are asking them to essentially plan a trip or vacation to your town. This may or may not be among their top destinations to invest in and visit. Obligating them to the trip creates undue stress and concern and complicated still is the idea of having to entertain the guests, because everyone knows you don't want them underfoot, or bored in the final countdown to ceremony and reception. You have too much to do!!!
By planning a fantastic destination wedding or commitment ceremony, you are coupling the experience with a vacation that offers something for everyone, and the requirement of entertaining your guests becomes minimal. Who isn't up to travelling to exotic beautiful Mexico for a few days of fun and relaxation for the event of a lifetime?!
A personally significant location on the beach at sunset, in the desert at sunrise, under the canopy of a rainforest in mid afternoon, can lend symbolism to the experience, and set the mood for romance. It is the stage set for the moment of your life.....and lets face it, there is romance in travel!
Saving money. Yes, saving money! Destination weddings, while they can be expensive, can meet a realistic budget. They are also the one-two punch in combining vacation with the attendance of your wedding, or your combining the wedding and honeymoon experience into one. Further is the minimization of the guest list. You are not obligated to invite your mother's sister in laws brother and his wife. In a destination wedding experience, it is generally acceptable to invite close friends and family only, making it a more intimate and personal experience. By taking this route, the doors open to more options and freedom in planning and details not otherwise considered.
Because you are embarking on a commitment journey or ceremony, you are not a traditionalist in the sense that walking down the aisle in a church is appealing. For many this is the MOST unappealing option there is. A destination wedding in Mexico is ideal for the non conformist, and deviates from the traditional. It is the answer to the quest for a unique and individual experience. This makes your wedding more memorable and special.
Our favorite part about a destination wedding or commitment ceremony in Mexico is the idea that your celebration lasts for days. It can be the party of a lifetime and the most celebratory experience you have ever had. Whether you chose a private villa in the heart of Cabo, for your closest friends and family to share for a few days of partying and fun, or you choose a glorious and beautiful hotel and resort, the sky is the limit and the days endless in fun, sun and celebration of your union.
